How to Spot a Psychopath

There are many infamous psychopaths that have become household names due to the uniqueness of their crimes and down to the media exposing the details of their stories. Among them are Ted Bundy, John Wayne Gacy, also known as the “Killer Clown” and Jeffrey Dahmer. It is believed by researchers that psychopaths only make up about 1% of the world’s population. Though they are rare, their crimes are haunting. There are numerous personality traits that make it easy to pick out a psychopath from a group of people. All of these killers like Bundy and Dahmer displayed many of these traits which proves how psychotic they really were.

They include:
· Narcissim.
· Psychopathic tendencies - these often start in childhood due to abuse or mistreatment. With therapy, a change of lifestyle and strong loving relationships, these tendencies can stop worsening.
· Lack of empathy.
· A superficial personality.
· Pathological lying – gives a sense on power and control.
· Lack of morality – which leads to rule and law breaking.
· Manipulativeness.
· Impulsivity – Encouraging the search for thrills.
Traits of a psychopath are not limited to those mentioned on this list but these are some of the most prominent tell-tale signs that a person is showing signs of being a psychopath. This personality disorder can cause a person to commit monumental crimes.
