Three people have died and three have been left injured after stabbings in a park in Reading. Police are treating it as a terrorist incident. The attack took place at around 7pm in Forbury Gardens. Multiple eyewitnesses saw the attack, stating that the attacker approached many groups of people and tried to stab them. A 25-year-old man named Khairi Saadallah was arrested at the scene. He is said to be a Libyan asylum seeker and mental health issues may be considered as a contributing factor to the incident. Saadallah has apparently caught the attention of authorities in the past, possibly to engage in terrorist acts because he wanted to travel abroad. He was later found not to be an immediate threat to society and he was not investigated any further. Many people believed the attack was connected to the Black Lives Matter movement, as a protest had taken place in the town earlier that day but police confirmed there was no connection. Investigators do not believe anybody else is involved and they are not pursuing any other suspects at this time.
