Vegan Couple Starve Son to Death

In December 2019, a married man and woman from Florida were charged with first degree murder after they starved their 18 month old son to death.

The vegan pair were only feeding the young boy uncooked fruit and vegetables. His siblings had a similar diet. Their three other children have been taken into care after the murder, aggravated manslaughter and child abuse charges were served to the couple. Two of the children are to be returned to their biological father’s care. These children also suffered such severe malnutrition that they had to have multiple teeth removed as they had been rotting. The couple were allegedly home-schooling their children but there was no evidence of schooling when police searched their house.

When paramedics arrived it was said that the little boy weighed the same as the average 7 month old, less than half the weight he should be at that stage.

The parents remain jailed and are expected to be back in court during the first week of January.
