Young Mother Charged for Starving her Children which Caused her Son’s Death

In the Ukrainian capital of Kiev, a 23 year old woman by the name of Vladislava Trokhimchuk left her 3 year old daughter and 1 year old son alone for 9 days with no food or water while she went away with her boyfriend and their new baby. She had locked the children in their nursery with no access to food or water in an attempt to make them look ill so she could post about it on social media in order to receive donations.

Unfortunately, by the time help arrived, her son had passed away and his sister was described as severely malnourished but still alive. She will later be put up for adoption once she has fully recovered. The pair had ripped wallpaper off the walls in an attempt to feed themselves. The apartment was filthy and scratch marks could be seen at the door of the nursery where the children tried to escape under the door to no avail.

When questioned, Trokhimchuk could be seen crying and regretting her actions but after 2 months in a detention centre, while awaiting trial, she can be seen expressing no remorse, laughing and ignoring judge’s questions about the case when in court and wearing an engagement ring.

Trokhimchuk faces up to 15 years in prison for the torture she put her children through.
